‘Efterglans’ (Afterglow) is the sixth album (and the fifth to be released on vinyl by DRR) by Swedish multi-instrumentalist, Anders Broström…AKA Domboshawa. Domboshawa has become the unofficial house band of Drone Rock Records and I am always excited when Anders brings a new album my way. ‘Efterglans’ has that distinctive Domboshawa sound that both myself and regular DRR followers have come to recognise and love… heavy space-rock riffs combined with blissed-out improvised jams. This is what the man himself had to say about the album:-
“This album was made in a kind of different way to how I usually work…. I basically just brought my instruments down to Moderskeppet (the studio of the fantastic Swedish psych band, Kungens Män, ) and just started recording. I think I had one riff pre-written otherwise it is all improvised, while being ably overseen throughout by Mikael Touminen (Kungens Män, Fanatism, Automatism, etc.) who recorded and engineered the sessions.”
‘Efterglans’ is a limited pressing of 250 copies pressed on eco-mix recycled colour vinyl. Due to the nature of process (the records are made from recycled compounds at the pressing plant) the final colour of the records is truly a random/lucky dip effect; the pressing plant cannot control the colour or effect, or pre-empt how the records will look except that they won’t be plain black. I may receive an entire run of all one colour, or may receive several different colour variants. It’s a gamble but, the main thing is, it’s also eco-friendly.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A PRE-ORDER AND CUSTOMER ORDERS WILL NOT BE POSTED OUT UNTIL EARLY TO MID-DECEMBER.
